Music History
Okay, once there was this caveman...
blah,blah,blah,blah,blah,blah,blah
blah,blah,blah,blah,blah,blah,.....
and Bach had 20 children.
No, wait. You came here for Kenny's music history.
Let's see, it all began with a miniature banjo with a red sheet metal fretboard and a wood paneling back given to him by his grandfather one Christmas. Really, it did.
Next slide please. Here we see Kenny leading his 50s band, the Prince & the Paupers, in "Blue Moon" at Campbell U. where they won 1st place in the campus talent show (they were all freshmen too!).

Now Kenny's opening for singer/fiddler/storyteller Mike Cross! It's a packed house and Kenny's getting the crowd a little more worked up than Mike's used to.

Ah, here we have the Dayroom Monitors playing the Brewery in Raleigh. Wait, there's actually a record exec in the audience! Never mind, he's going to sign the other band!

(by the way, use your imagination til I get a scanner--it'll actually be good for you)

Here's Kenny meeting John Lennon's producer Jack Douglas in NYC at the former Record Plant--now called 321 Studios!

Here he is handing the phone to Sting at S.I.R. Rehearsal Studios!

Now he's back to performing solo and has got 'em laughing at Raleigh's Global Village.

Cool! Here he is at High Point University doing his Leon Redbone/Mike Cross impersonation!
(there's lots more, so stay tuned!)

The History or Story Behind My Site
Um....I got a site and...um...put some stuff on it. That's about it.

Guitars, etc.
1975 Alvarez Yairi DY57 acoustic guitar. I love this guitar! It has a warm tone and is so easy to play! Got it in '76.

Lone Star classical guitar. Linda got it for me in '98 for our 10th anniversary! Great for fingerpicking.

1970 Fender Telecaster, natural finish. Sweeeeeet! Always in tune! No, Rick McDuffie, you're not gettin' this one back!

70s Univox Les Paul copy, purple(!). Not the best intonation, but FUN to play!

Epiphone bass, black. Used mainly for working out bass parts before I head to Jerry Kee's to record with his P bass (or is it a Jazz??)

(Are you ready for this??)pre-1920 Supertone Ragtime King open-back banjo! Perfect for clawhammer style (also known as "frailin'")
Check back in a little while. I'll be putting photos of these babies here soon!
